Dato’ (Dr) Yahya Bin Ismail

Dato’ (Dr) Yahya Bin Ismail, a Malaysian, aged 79 is a council member of Tan Sri Tan Foundation since 11 September 1981.

He was formerly with the Government and his last appointment was as the Director General of the National Livestock Authority Malaysia. He was also with the Totalisator Board Malaysia from 1982 to 1990 and served as its Chairman since 1986.

Dato’ Yahya is a director of YTL Corporation Berhad since 1984, YTL Power International Berhad since 1996 and Metroplex Berhad since 1992. He also serves on the board of Pintar Projek Sdn. Bhd., the Manager of Starhill Real Estate Investment Trust. Dato’ Yahya is also the Executive Chairman of Komputer Sistem (M) Sdn. Bhd.

Dato’ Richard Ong Guan Seng

Dato’ Richard Ong Guan Seng, aged 78, was appointed a Council Member of Tan Sri Tan Foundation in 2009. He is a member of the Malaysian Institute of Accountants, the Malaysian Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Australia.

He became a Partner of Peat Marwick (now KPMG) Malaysia in 1971 and was appointed Deputy Senior Partner in 1989 until he retired in 1993. In 1996 he was appointed a Justice of the Peace (JP) by the Sultan of Perak and was awarded the Darjah Paduka Mahkota Perak (Dato’) in 1999.

He served as President of the Rotary Club of Ipoh in 1983/84, President of the Ipoh Swimming Club (1992/95) and is presently one of the four Trustees of the Royal Ipoh Club.

He is a Non-Executive Independent Director of Hexza Corporation Berhad, a company listed on Bursa Malaysia, and is also a Director of a few private limited companies.

His involvement with community service work was as President of the Perak Association for Intellectually Disabled from 1998 to 2002 and currently serving as an Advisor to the Association.

Dato’ Robert Teo Keng Tuan

Dato’ Robert Teo Keng Tuan, a Malaysian is a Chartered Accountant by profession and a member of the Malaysian Institute of Accountants. He is also a Fellow Member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales.

He has more than 30 years’ experience in the fields of audit assurance, tax planning and business consulting. He started out his career in 1973 when he joined Turquand Barton Mayhew, London (now known as Ernst & Young).

At present, Dato’ Robert Teo is the Chairman/Managing Partner of RSM Malaysia, a professional public accounting firm, which is a member of RSM International with its Executive Office in London.

His specialised industry knowledge lies in the property, construction and housing development sector with a focus on property consulting and tax planning. He is an Independent Non-Executive Director on the Board of Symphony Life Berhad.

Robert is on the Board of several Chambers of Commerce / Business Councils and participates actively in bilateral initiatives especially on trade issues.

He is presently the President of Malaysian-German Chamber of Commerce and Industry and the Vice Chairman of the Malaysia Australia Business Council.

Chew Gek Khim

Ms Chew Gek Khim serves as the Deputy Chairman of the Tan Chin Tuan Foundation in Singapore. Active in community and public service, she also sits on the Board of Trustees of the National University of Singapore, and Board of Governors of the S. Rajaratnam School of International Studies and the Lee Kuan Yew School of Public Policy. She was chairman of the National Environment Agency Board of Singapore from 2008 to 2015.

A lawyer by training, she has also been Chairman of The Straits Trading Company Limited since 2008.

Ms Chew is also Executive Chairman of Tecity Group, which she joined in 1987. She is Chairman of Malaysia Smelting Corporation Berhad and ARA Trust Management (Suntec) Limited, and sits on the Boards of ARA Asset Management Holdings Pte. Ltd. and Singapore Exchange Limited.

Ms Chew graduated from the National University of Singapore in 1984 and was awarded the Chevalier de l’Ordre National du Mérite in 2010, the Singapore Businessman of the Year 2014 in 2015 and the Meritorious Service Medal at the National Day Award in 2016. Ms Chew was also conferred the degree of Doctor of Letters (Honoris Causa) by the Nanyang Technological University in September 2021.

Chew Gek Hiang

Ms Chew Gek Hiang is a Council Member of the Tan Chin Tuan Foundation since 1991.

She serves on the Advisory Board of the Academy of Chinese Medicine, Singapore, and is also President of Noah’s Ark CARES (Companion Animal Rescue and Education Society), a non-profit animal welfare society which champions responsible pet ownership and active sterilisation and micro chipping of stray dogs and cats in Singapore.

As Executive Director and Head of Finance, Ms Chew is actively involved in the investment activities of the Tecity Group and is responsible for its securities trading portfolio.  She also oversees the human resource and administrative functions in the Tecity Group.

An accountant by training, Ms Chew graduated from National University of Singapore in 1986, and joined Ernst and Whinney in Singapore. She joined Ernst & Young (London) in 1987 to pursue her chartered accountancy and was admitted to the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales in October 1990.  She has been with the Tecity Group since 1991.

Chew Kwee San

Mr Chew Kwee San is a Council Member of the Tan Chin Tuan Foundation since 1998. He also serves on the Boards of Community Foundation of Singapore and The Community Justice Centre.

As Executive Director of the Tecity Group, he is responsible for the Treasury functions and oversees all investment operations of the Group. The Tecity Group is a privately-held investment group founded by the late banker and philanthropist, Tan Sri (Dr) Tan Chin Tuan. The group manages an active global investment portfolio and has substantial shareholdings in The Straits Trading Company (STC).

Mr Chew Kwee San received the Individual Silver Award from the Community Chest in 2015 and received The Public Service Medal (PBM) in the 2018 National Day Awards for his contributions to community service.
