YARP: Junior Chef Programme

On 14 November 2016, 20 secondary school youths from TCTF-supported charities – Care Corner Singapore (Teck Ghee Youth Centre) and Lakeside Family Services (Jurong West) – attended a three-hour Junior Chef workshop conducted by The Fullerton Hotel. The programme falls under the auspices of TCTF’s Young Arts Reporter Project (YARP) initiative that aims to encourage youths to not only improve their photojournalism and writing abilities but also expose them to career opportunities that they may wish to explore and take a greater interest in.

The youths were privy to an exclusive Food Preparation Course and Kitchen Tour with Executive Chef Sandro Falbo and Senior Sous Chef Lawrence Liew. The top three junior chefs were awarded their very own chef’s hat and apron along with a Fullerton plate. No one went empty-handed as all participating youths left with a Certificate of participation and a box of praline chocolates with compliments from The Fullerton Hotel.
