As a part of our annual Tête-à-Tête @ TCTF series, current TCTF scholarship recipients and educators from the ACS Family of Schools, Methodist Girls’ School and Hwa Chong Institution were invited for a tea reception at the Tan Chin Tuan Mansion on Friday, 27 July 2018.
This date was specially selected to mark the birthday anniversary of Tan Sri’s wife, Puan Sri Helene Tan. The tea session was hosted by our Chairman Dr Tan Kheng Lian, Council Member Ms Chew Gek Hiang and CEO Ms Yap Su-Yin. Ms Chew, in her opening remarks, commended the scholars on their academic excellence and contributions to the community whilst encouraging them to pay it forward.
Following the token presentation, scholars were given a guided tour of the mansion where they learnt more about our founder Tan Sri (Dr) Tan Chin Tuan, his legacy, the philanthropic mission of the Tan Chin Tuan Foundation and mingled with fellow scholars from various schools. Educators, meanwhile, were treated to a tea reception and sharing by special guests from TCTF-supported charities, Brahm Centre and Yong-en Care Centre. Ms Angie Chew, Founder and Executive Director of Brahm Centre shared tips on managing stress and anxiety while Ms Beryl Ng, Executive Director of Yong-en Care Centre shared about Yong-en Care Centre’s internship programme which is supported by TCTF.
