St. Luke’s Eldercare (Clementi Centre)

25 Jun 2010

TCTF has organised Project Cheer @ St. Luke’s Eldercare (Clementi) on 25th June, in partnership with Student Advisory Centre (SAC).

The student volunteers made cakes and cookies prior to the programme, enough for 50 elderly to be served during their tea break. They also organised Bingo games and performed balloon twisting for the elderly while they were there from 2pm to 3pm. All of the elderly got at least one poodle-, sword-, or hat-shaped balloon by the end of the activities.

The event ended with song performances by volunteers from Mt. Calvary Baptist Church, in both English and Chinese languages, whereby some of the elderly and staff also sang along with them.

The student volunteers have learnt that the event was meaningful to them. They have shown commitment in this project, as well as their compassion for the elderly by serving them from their heart.
