The “Read Aloud, Share a Story or Poem” project is a collective effort of 12 contributors across different age groups, nationalities, and ethnicities who lent their voices and skills during the Covid-19 pandemic. Contributors include narrators from St. Joseph’s Institution International Malaysia (SJIIM) as well as past and present TCTF interns, and scholars from Methodist Girls’ School and NAFA. TCTF scholars Fadzli Jambari and Lee Shi Wen, from Ngee Ann Polytechnic then used their multimedia skills to weave together the narrations of stories and poems to create the More Than Words 2016 – True Colours, True Hearts audiobook.
In 2016, TCTF engaged trainers from ACTs of life, The Little Arts Academy, One HeartBeat Percussion, Singapore Repertory Theatre, Encore!, Roger Jenkins and volunteers to conduct creative writing workshops. Participants grew in self-awareness, self-confidence and positivity, whilst learning new skills in an environment where they felt safe to express themselves. The children’s poems, stories, imaginative ideas, and quirky illustrations are carried within the pages of the book.
