On 11 July, TCTF invited its Lee Hah Ing Scholars for tea at the Tan Chin Tuan Mansion. For the first-time, scholars past and present – from 1990s to the current batch – gathered to meet their benefactors, as well as Mr Lee Hah Ing, 94, who was guest-of-honour.
About Mr Lee Hah Ing
Born in China in 1914, Mr Lee Hah Ing graduated from the Raffles College in Singapore in 1934 and returned to teach at ACS Teluk Anson, ACS Ipoh and Methodist Boys’ School in Kuala Lumpur before joining ACS Singapore in 1952. He served as Principal of the Anglo-Chinese School from 1961 to 1969.
He served as honorary advisor to the Foundation for several years before retiring in 2006, at aged 92.
