With Love, We See

14 Feb 2013

The Tan Chin Tuan Foundation (TCTF) recently celebrated Valentine’s Day with 40 beneficiaries and staff of the Singapore Association of the Visually Handicapped (SAVH) on 14 February 2013. Eight couples and their friends, all blind or with low vision, enjoyed a nature stroll at MacRitchie Reservoir Park accompanied by staff and volunteers from TCTF and SAVH. After which, everyone got together at the White Cane Clubhouse in SAVH for a hearty lunch hosted by the TCTF.

While they ate, our interns and volunteers entertained the audience with a lively repertoire of songs to sing along with. The beneficiaries also received Polo tees hand-painted with the theme “With LOVE, we SEE” in English, Chinese and Braille, which they happily wore on the spot for photo taking. In commemoration of the ongoing Chinese New Year festivities, the SAVH staff and beneficiaries also received Ang Pows and well-wishes individually from Ms. Yap Su-Yin, CEO of TCTF. Finally, the afternoon became more poignant as several couples shared their love stories with us, including interesting anecdotes and marriage tips for the younger ones!
