In response to the needs of low-income families in Johor that were affected by severe floods in December 2006 and January 2007, the foundation launched the “Saving Kampung Peta” project in 2007 in partnership with the Malaysian Red Crescent Society. The project was officiated by Her Royal Highness, Yang Amat Mulia Raja Zarith Sofiah Binti Almarhum Sultan Idris Shah.
As part of the foundation’s ongoing support, the “Tan Chin Tuan Community Library” was set up as a gift to the Orang Asli community at Kampong Peta (Endau-Rompin, National Park). This initiative is to inculcate the love for reading and learning among the rural children.
