On 31 May 2018, TCTF CEO Ms Yap Su-Yin attended the Grace International School (GIS) Awards and Candle Lighting Ceremony in Chiangmai, Thailand.

This was in support of the 4 students who received the Tan Chin Tuan Foundation – GIS Senior Excellence Scholarship scholarships given to deserving students in their senior year and also an alumni award to encourage graduates to return to GIS to teach, thereby fostering alumni spirit.

The Candle Lighting Ceremony was a visual and symbolic passing of the torch from the current senior class to the junior class whereby seniors move on to the next stage and pass the responsibilities of leadership to the upcoming senior class.
