Global Village Foundation continued to receive the support of the Tan Chin Tuan Foundation in poverty alleviation in Vietnam’s rural communities through education and healthcare. In support of GVF’s “Mobile Library” programme, the foundation sponsored over 10,000 books to needy students from more than 50 schools and charities in the form of mobile book cases costing US$500 per “library”. A teacher-training programme was also conducted for primary school teachers to upgrade their skills. Furthermore, the foundation sponsored district level healthcare training workshops conducted by GVF trainers for village healthcare workers , which imparted healthcare knowledge and teaching techniques.
