TCTF is founding benefactor of the Yale-NUS College. Its endowed gift of $5 million – matched dollar-for-dollar by the Singapore government – enabled Singapore first liberal arts college to create a “Tan Chin Tuan Professorship in China and Chinese Studies”, as well as a new “Tan Chin Tuan Chinese Culture and Civilisation Programme” to promote the learning of Chinese culture and China.
