The TCTF’s “More Than Words” programme this year kicked off with the musical play ‘Rapunzel’ on 21st March 2014, at the DBS Arts Centre. In collaboration with Encore!, the foundation invited 107 beneficiaries from three charities, which include Ang Mo Kio FSC, MCYC Community Services and New Life Community Services.

While waiting to be ushered into the theatre, photo shoots were organised for the various charities. Once all photos had been taken, our beneficiaries then proceeded into the grand DBS Arts Centre where the show started as per scheduled. The play was a fun and engaging performance with sing-a-long sessions incorporated into the performance where Rapunzel encouraged our young audience to help her remember the three ingredients required to undo the spell that imprisoned her in the tower. Ultimately, the show taught the children the importance of friendship and love in the face of adversity.

After the musical, our beneficiaries were treated to a group photo with the cast. It was no surprise to see the young ones flocking towards Rapunzel for the group photo. Before we bid them goodbye, a little “souvenir surprise” from TCTF was given to our beneficiaries – a ‘Rapunzel’ card autographed by all the cast members! We hope they will always remember spending an enchanting afternoon with us and the ‘Rapunzel’ cast!
